Rolex Predictions for 2022 - A new collection of Rolex AIR-KING, back to its roots
The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King was once an understated but highly regarded model in the brand's collection. The Air-King is a simple, robust and sporty watch that has long stood alongside the Oyster Perpetual and the Explorer. However, since 2016, the watch has had a rather special place in the portfolio. For us, now is the time for a change. There are many reasons why the current Air-King 116900 should be replaced. First, it uses an older case design and a 3131-caliber movement. Second, the odd-looking dial didn't make the watch a commercial success. Finally, the current Air-King was inspired by a set of custom instruments that Rolex built on the Bloodhound SSC, an attempt at a record-breaking car. But that partnership no longer exists.
As part of our 2022 Rolex predictions, we envision a new Air-King collection that returns to its roots. In the past, the Rolex Air-King was an entry-level watch with a small 34mm case that was sportier than the classic Oyster Perpetual. Most of us will no doubt remember the 1990s model with the 3-6-9 Explorer app badge. With that in mind, here's our potential 2022 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Air-King. First, to fill in the gaps in the collection, we decided to equip it with a 39mm case that sits between the 36mm Explorer 124270 and the 41mm Oyster Perpetual 124300. The watch will use current design elements, with a thinner bezel and more tapered lugs.
The dial of this new 2022 Rolex Air-King will also be more in line with the watch's past personality. Something less practical than the Explorer, but sportier and more serious than the OP. After all, the Air-King is a model for aviation. So we'll give it some discreet coloration, along the lines of the dark blue model here, but not like the brighter OP watches. And, as in the past, it combines traditional stick hands with the iconic 3-6-9 applied markings and is treated with a luminous material. Of course, the new Caliber 3230 will power the replica luxury watches.
Because our founder Frank was so eager to make a white 'polar' version of the new Air-King, and because we knew Rolex wouldn't make a white dial for its Explorer, we knew that a white model had been created. But there's no denying that it does look good!
Rolex Prediction 2022 – Rolex YACHT-MASTER 42 TITANIUM NO-DATE ON OYSTERFLEX
A few months ago we came across a rather special prototype (first spotted by Jake in a Rolex magazine), a titanium version of the Yacht-Master 42 worn by Sir Ben Ainslie. Rolex has never made an entire watch out of titanium. period! Before this prototype was spotted, it was a No-Date YM with a matte titanium case. Rolex seems to be returning to its experimental watch roots, testing purpose-built models under real-life conditions. Ainsley has worn the watch several times, including during the 2021 Prada Cup. The watch in question is this platinum version of the tool, made of an alloy called RLX Titanium, with a matte dial and no date.
After spotting this watch in the wild, we adapted the concept into a standard version for the public. So this could be the first commercial Rolex titanium watch, a sporty, understated Yacht-Master 42 Titanium. The way we envisioned this watch is relatively simple: the 42mm case comes in a matte, darker shade of titanium, but is identical in shape and proportions to the white gold version. The textured bezel with raised scales will also be retained. In addition to the time-only display, the dial will show a new matte texture and hands that match the case color/material.replica watches for sale
Below the deck we can find the classic 3230 calibre shared with the Submariner 124060. To continue sailing/regatta, this version can be worn on the brand's superb Oysterflex rubber strap - we really don't want Rolex to release a textile NATO strap...so this Rolex Yacht-Master 42 Titanium No-Date can be restored The athletic credentials of the YM series, while still being different from the Submariner.
Rolex Predictions 2022 - 10th Anniversary of the Rolex SKY-DWELLER PLATINUM
This year, the Sky-Dweller, the most complicated watch ever created by Rolex, celebrates its 10th anniversary. Launched in 2012, this model combines a GMT function and an annual calendar, both subtly driven by the rotating bezel "Ring Command". With 11 patents and multiple indications, the beauty of the Sky-Dweller is that it combines a complex mechanical structure with a highly user-friendly interface.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this high-end model, we envision it in platinum, the most precious metal, for the case, bezel and bracelet. In typical Rolex tradition, it will be paired with a light blue dial. If Rolex did launch such a watch, it would be expensive (up to 60k) and the production would be low, like most platinum Rolexes.Bremont KINGSMAN ROSE GOLD BKM-RG
We don't expect more changes to be made in other details of the 10th Anniversary Rolex Sky-Dweller Platinum. The dials have been updated in 2017 with the introduction of the steel and Rolesor models, and they do look good. But with this light blue dial, there is no doubt that Rolex will have a hot watch in its collection.
Rolex Forecast 2022 – Rolex GMT-MASTER II COKE Bezel 126710RONR
This model responds more to a wish and a collector's dream than a potential release. But anyway, we hope bringing this topic up again will give the Crown's creative team some hints. While some would have liked to see the classic all-black bezel return on the GMT-Master II, we know that this model is only available with a two-tone bezel - that's what Rolex told us at the time of its release Pepsi and discontinued the black version. The collection now includes, at least for the stainless steel model, the black and blue 126710BLNR "Batman" and the red and blue 126710BLRO "Pepsi", both available on Jubilee or Oyster bracelets.
We want to imagine Rolex digging through its archives and bringing back the historic black and red bezel nicknamed "Coke" by collectors. Aside from the fact that this new color scheme (of course) includes red GMT hands, the potential 126710RONR will be the same as the BLNR and BLRO models, with a 40mm stainless steel case, black dial and 3285 caliber. Another potential option for a cola version could be a white gold case, with a blue dial reference 126719BLRO in place of the white gold Pepsi. In this case, the white gold Pepsi can only be paired with a silver meteorite dial. Richard Mille RM 032 Diver Replica
