Tudor Ranger M79950-0001
The Tudor Ranger is back, more compact and now with a COSC in-house movement
Tudor is once again bringing back the Discovery-inspired Ranger collection.replica Tudor Ranger M79950 watches
While most of us probably know Tudor for countless versions of the Black Bay (at least for its modern side), the brand offers much more than that...and, for its historical or modern collections. If you recall, in 2014 Tudor paid tribute to its participation in the exploration, bringing back an important model, the Ranger. Built for adventure, this sturdy, no-nonsense instrument is modernized with an oversized case, but the overall spirit is the same. The Tudor Ranger has been discontinued, but today it's back in a number of evolutions that make it an even stronger product. Measuring 39mm, with an observatory movement and some tricks under the sleeve, this is the new 2022 Tudor Ranger 79950.
Tudor, Exploration and BNGE
Since the 1930s, Rolex has been known for its association with expeditions, including testing watches on Himalayan expeditions. The story culminated in 1953 when Sir Edmund Hillary and expedition partner Tenzing Norgay summited Mount Everest. This led the brand to create an important model, the Explorer. Born in 1953, the Explorer is the epitome of an exploration/adventure watch with its no-nonsense design, robustness and iconic 3-6-9 dial.
Rolex is not the only brand in the "Rolex Group" that is involved in such expeditions. In fact, long before Rolex was involved in summiting Mount Everest, sister company Tudor was associated with another major expedition, the British North Greenland expedition. From 1952 to 1954, about 30 men were sent to Greenland's Great North, at a station codenamed Arctic. The goal is to conduct scientific research in glaciology, meteorology, geology and physiology, and to investigate and document topography. Seismological and gravity studies were also carried out.buying replica watch
These men wore the new Tudor Oyster Prince on their wrists - 26 watches were released under the reference number 7909. These white dial watches feature a 34mm Oystersteel case with a built-in self-winding movement that is largely forgotten by history. The watch must be tested, and timing data is recorded for each wearer. To this day, one of the watches still exists, and several historical documents, including a letter received by Rolex from another expedition member, trace the story of Tudor watches sent to members of the British expedition to North Greenland.
The Tudor Rangers and Their Evolution
The history of the Tudor Ranger is a topic we've explored extensively in the past, in this article. Following the BNGE and the released Tudor Oyster Prince models, the brand decided to bring exploration/adventure watches to a wider audience, just as Rolex did with the Explorer. Simply put, the Ranger is an accessible version of a Rolex watch.
What we've seen, mostly the iconic and early reference 7965 and 7995, is a gauge-like steel watch with a 34mm Oyster case, no date, automatic movement and dial that's sure to impress Feel familiar. This matte black dial does feature Arabic numerals, the same as the Explorer, but in a 12-3-6-9 configuration. The hands are also special, the hour hand is arrow-shaped, the second hand is syringe-shaped, and the minute hand is standard.replica Bremont Kingsman watches
The history of the Tudor Ranger is quite complicated. Officially, Tudor said the Oyster Prince Ranger model was introduced in the 1960s and was first included in the catalogue in 1969. It will be available until 1988. There is still no evidence of an exact launch date (presumed to be 1963). The problem is that the Ranger is not a specific reference in the collection, but shares its serial number with other non-Explorer-like versions, such as the standard Oyster Prince watch. In fact, these watches are all the same, just the dial and hands are different. Therefore, Ranger allows multiple references such as 7964, 7965, 7966, 7990, 7992, 7995, 7996, 90330 or 90220 - depending on whether the date exists or not.
Regarding the classic Ranger and its iconic dial, Tudor brought back this model in 2014, and this watch is the Tudor Heritage Ranger 79910. It is 41mm in diameter and has a fairly modern design with an outsourced ETA movement. The main link between the present and the past is the dial, the iconic 12-3-6-9 with Arabic numerals on a matte black surface, arrow-shaped hour hands, an all-red coated syringe second hand and an overall no-nonsense, toolwatch watch's Feel. It can be used on a variety of straps and bracelets, including steel bracelets with straight-end links and light brown "Bund" straps. Importantly, the Ranger is not mentioned on the dial, but the smiley self-winding indicator at 6 o’clock and the classic rose logo at 12 o’clock. This model will be discontinued in mid-2020 and will not be replaced...until now.
New Tudor Ranger 39mm ref. 79950
The new Tudor Ranger isn't quite a revolution, but so many things have changed that it's actually a truly new watch. This once again embodies the brand's vision for an adventure tool watch. No frills, no extras, no external bezel, just a simple and ultra-focused luxury replica watches that can withstand most situations.
The first thing to notice about the new Tudor Ranger is its new case. For example, modeled after what was found on the Black Bay 58, it is now 39mm in diameter and about 11mm in height (though not specified). For a true musical instrument look, the case is completely satin-finished, including a lateral bevel that extends from one lug to the other. The same finish is found on the smooth bezel of the domed sapphire crystal, but a thin polished finish can be found around its periphery. For those who are used to the BB58, this case will feel very familiar, as it shares the same overall shape and design – except, of course, the rotating bezel.
Other elements of the case are also consistent with traditional Tudor watches. The bottom cover is solid steel and fastened with screws. The crown features the historic Rose logo, large, fine grooves, and is also screwed down to ensure a comfortable 100-meter water resistance. Considering this 39mm diameter and style, you'll find that the brand somehow offers a replacement for those who prefer the older Explorer 39mm…
Take a look at the dial of this new Tudor Ranger 39mm 79950 and you'll immediately see the connection to the vintage Ranger model, as well as the resemblance to the previous generation watch. The dial is matte black with fine texture. It still relies on the classic Arabic numerals at 12-3-6-9 and the stick markers for the 5-minute indication. The hands are also in keeping with the vintage version of this watch, with arrow-shaped hours, stick-shaped minutes (but with an elongated prong) and a glowing syringe tip for the seconds. All prints are presented in beige, enhancing the vintage feel of this watch and adding a pop of color. Kind of a charm.RICHARD MILLE RM 011 FLYBACK ORANGE
The new 2022 Tudor Ranger has some changes. First, only the tip of the second hand is now red (it used to be the entire hand). Then, the "smiley face" at 6 o'clock was removed, and only the Ranger's name was visible. Finally, the logo of the brand is the modern shield. Now, look at the watch and you'll see that it partially corrects one of the processes of the previous generation. Large chronographs usually have a fairly sterile empty dial, and the more compact size as well as the larger bezel make it more balanced overall. Keeping with the tradition of tool watches, the Ranger insists on no date display.
Inside the chassis is another major novelty of this 2022 Ranger, the Calibre MT5402 Maker. Previously powered by a movement from ETA, the Ranger now relies on the same movement as the Black Bay 58, which is COSC chronometer certified thanks to powerful mechanical upgrades and greater precision. The movement made by Kenissi is automatic, with two-way winding and laterally balanced bridges, making it durable. It has an antimagnetic silicon hairspring that stores a power reserve of up to 70 hours.
The Tudor Ranger 39mm still offers a wide variety of bracelets and straps. The first is the classic Oyster non-rivet steel bracelet with a fully brushed finish. It now comes with the classic end links and features the brand's new folding clasp with the T-fit quick adjustment system. In addition, you can choose an olive green textile jacquard strap with two red stripes and one beige stripe, or a more modern rubber and textured leather combination strap, which is closed by a folding clasp.mens replica watch
