New Bovet 1822 Virtuoso VIII
Bovet has added a new watches to their recently redesigned Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two with a new aesthetic to tradition. Here's our detailed review of the Virtuoso VIII Chapter 2, featuring a sandblasted titanium case and SuperLumiNova dial.
First released in 2020, the Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two features a more classic gold case. This is an update for a new version with new aesthetics for the titanium case with black DLC and SuperLumiNova dial. We cover the release details of the redesigned watch version when it launches in 2021. This year, the collection is further expanded with the review model featuring a sandblasted titanium case and blue SuperLumiNova dial.
Two of the five models launch in 2021 with a black DLC case. The review sample is new for 2022 and features a sandblasted titanium case with blue accents.
Bovet celebrates 200 years of watchmaking in 2022 and remains independent as a complete manufacturer owned by Pascal Raffy. Annual production is about 800 top luxury replica watches per year, a large part of which are custom orders. They have the expertise to develop and hand-craft all the skills required for a Haute Horlogerie movement, including hairsprings and regulating mechanisms. All work is done in-house except for the mainspring, gemstone, sapphire case and strap. The brand is also strong in the arts, with artisans engaged in hand engraving, enamel work and enamel painting.
case
The case of the Virtuoso VIII is adapted from a pocket watch, part of Bovet's long and tortuous history. The case retains the Lépine-style pocket watch case layout, with the crown at 12 o’clock. Made of sandblasted titanium with a matte finish. The surface is smooth to the touch, but doesn't catch light and doesn't appear shiny.
The crown is a large, polished onion-shaped structure with engraved rings for a comfortable grip. It features a sapphire cabochon and is also equipped with a quick date correction system that advances the date by one day with each touch of the cabochon. Around the crown, Bovet has installed a bow at 12 o'clock that connects to the case around a torpedo-shaped extension. A tribute to the origins of pocket watches, the bow is able to swing around the crown for access to the crown for winding, time setting and the aforementioned quick date correction. The other end of it is attached to the upper strap. At the other end of the case, a structure extends to secure a pin to which the lower strap is attached.
The case shape is round with a curved bezel and two raised lips on the sides. The case design is sloping – thicker at 12 o’clock than at 6 o’clock, with a slightly domed sapphire glass. Bovet calls it a "writing slanted case" design. It's an adaptation of the Bovet Fleurier and Dimier watch cases, making the watch look slimmer, and dare we say it, a rather sensual and seductive aesthetic.replica Chopard Alpine Eagle Watches
The combination of design shapes, nuanced details and sandblasted, matte finishes of the case is particularly appealing, yet completely understated in appearance.
Dial and hands
The dial is skeletonized. The keyless piece is on display, and its fine workmanship can be seen as it extends down from the crown. It is a complex spherical aberration system and has received two patents of its own. Halve the number of crown turns required to fully wind a 10-day large mainspring without increasing perception. Winding the watch in practice is a smooth and pleasant feeling as you watch the power reserve hand rise.
Two beautiful textured sky blue subdials sit above the center of the dial at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions. The left side has the power reserve in days, the right side has the two rows of nameplates "BOVET" "1822" and the limited edition number - in the case of the review watch "No 6/8". This sub-dial also features a framed aperture that displays the date in large size. The lower half of the dial is a component in the form of a double-sided flying tourbillon. The bridge carrying the drive train can be seen. On the right side of the dial, below the date subdial, a third wheel can be seen engaged with the drive wheel of the tourbillon cage.Urwerk UR-120 aka Spock
The two sub-dials are fully coated with SuperLumiNova. They have a beautiful textured sky blue in good light and glow with a healthy blue-green lumens in the dark. A similar part around the tourbillon is also coated with a luminous coating, making the seconds hand clear and easy to read, as indicated by the arrows fixed to the tourbillon cage.

The fine movement top plate is visible below the sub-dial, showing excellent work on the Côtes de Genève, flanges and gold sleeves.
Movement: Calibre 17BM06-GD
The top plate of the movement is almost completely visible from the dial side, but when you turn the watch over, another view comes into view. The ornately constructed movement can be seen, with curved arms holding the gear train. The power reserve is also visible under the plate covering part of the single mainspring barrel, providing a power reserve of 10 days.swiss replica watches
As you can see from the dial side, the tourbillon is gorgeous in design and finish. The arms are titanium and finished on both sides, intended to be displayed on either. Inside the highly polished case is a variable inertia balance, beating at 18,000 bph, typical of a tourbillon-regulated movement to reduce energy consumption. It is always worth noting that Bovet manufactures its own hairspring and regulating mechanism, which few manufacturers can claim to be.
Movement finishing is very good. The decor is consistent and well executed. Take, for example, the Côtes de Genève on the back of the watch. The trim of the base plate is precisely aligned with the trim of the three bridges, and it appears as if the corrugations are arranged to form concentric circles. The tourbillon cage is rounded and polished with an even bevel. Not a single component of finisseurs is left out. Superb finish at its best. https://www.chronowrist.ru
The Bovet Virtuoso VIII Chapter 2 Sandblasted Titanium SuperLumiNova Dial is a fine watch in our book. We also doubt it in the books of many other keen enthusiasts. The aesthetics may be a bit unusual, but it's well-balanced and well-executed. The visuals are enough to make the Virtuoso VIII Chapter 2 instantly recognizable on the wrist of the person across the room - its crown is adorned with a cabochon sapphire at 12, its bow hinge wraps the strap around the wrist, and its matte-finish titanium The metal case has many nuanced design details, the gorgeous double blue sub-dial and exposed mechanism and that gorgeous tourbillon. But as impressive as it sounds, this watch still manages to maintain a discreet etiquette. A nice balance, we say.
As mentioned, the design allows for less wear than suggested by the 44mm case size - the articulated lugs and tapered case are a huge contributor.discounted replica men watches
