Bell & Ross has discreetly updated its most iconic collections with smaller cases, new editions and upgraded movements.
We’ve told the story of Bell & Ross many times, and most people will be familiar with its most iconic watch, the BR Instrument. A circle within a square, this watch directly mimics the dashboard instruments found on antique military aircraft, and this watch (and all variations) is a signature of the brand. The most notable of these is the BR 03 (a smaller version of the BR 01 that has become the standard model), which has been around for more than 15 years. It's time for a little update. Bell & Ross high quality men watches was founded in 1992 as a college project by two friends: Bruno Belamich (Bell in the first name) and Carlos Rosillo (Ross in the first name). The original idea was to compose instrumental pieces inspired by the military realm - Special Forces, Dive Commando, Air Force and general field operations. The first watches were made in collaboration with the German manufacturer Sinn and quickly gained acceptance among civilian enthusiasts and military personnel. But the real turning point in the brand’s history came in 2005, when a watch that would become a Bell & Ross icon was born, the BR 01 Instrument.
This is the brand’s declaration of independence, a watch with its own design and identity. It was an important watch for Bell & Ross, bringing international fame to the brand. The unique design comes from transferring the shapes of vintage dashboard instruments from airplanes to the wrist. This design, more than 15 years old, will receive a subtle but welcome update in 2023 with the new BR 03 range. Mainly the hour hand is thinner, while the track and numerals are slightly more pronounced. The new generation BR 03 is presented as a complete set of eight references. It includes three classic black ceramic case models: a matte black model with white numerals, a Phantom model with an all-black look including numerals and hands, and a Heritage model with a retro look. Three classic stainless steel versions also return, namely black steel, blue steel and gold heritage models, with black, blue and brown dials respectively. All in all, the new Bell & Ross BR 03 range is not a revolution. That's exactly why it's a smart move.
