As an art collector and a maker of fine watches, Franck Muller's two passions often collided with creativity. This is how the first Color Dreams watch was born. In 2000, we used the dial as our canvas and introduced a rainbow display over the iconic oversized hour markers. Since then, color dreams have entered every corner of the Franck Muller collection.
Over the past decade, our experimentation with the Color Dream concept has continued as bold colored dials and rainbow-inspired gem-set timepieces have become popular. The skeleton movement is designed in a contemporary Franck Muller style and was designed from the outset as a skeleton watch. The movement’s satin-anodized aluminum bridges are fixed directly to the inner case and are precisely machined to fit the curved case design. From the fiery red barrel bridge to the marigold yellow small seconds counter at 6 o’clock, architectural inspiration blends with vivid pops of color on the electroplated movement components.

The new V 43 case is extremely lightweight and made from CarboTech, a synthetic material made of carbon fiber that has been compressed by a high-end polymer at 120 degrees for 9 hours. The unique stripes on each watch are created through the compression of carbon fiber, so no two watches have the same pattern. The case is completely polished by hand and is not polished on the outside.
The FM 1740-VS movement is designed with a large balance wheel running at 18,000vph and is powered by stacked twin barrels to provide up to 7 days of power. The large movement determined the 45 mm size of the first Vanguard Skeleton Color Dreams, originally housed in a sapphire crystal case.
Now, the movement has been further adapted and housed in a mid-sized 43mm carbon fiber Vanguard case, suitable for all wrist sizes of women and men. The ergonomic Vanguard case is designed to fit snugly around the wrist, and its soft, rounded edges enhance its sculptural features.
