Tudor Pelagos Ultra
The Tudor Pelagos Ultra dive watch is uncompromising in every aspect.
In 2012, Tudor launched the Pelagos collection for the first time, along with the now-classic Black Bay collection. At the time, the brand was clearly forging two distinct paths. The Black Bay collection became Tudor's tribute to vintage dive watch aesthetics, while the Pelagos collection represented a completely different concept—a powerful, modern, and practical tool watch designed for serious diving activities.
Over the past thirteen years, the Pelagos collection has quietly evolved into one of the most respected dive watch collections in the industry. We've witnessed the initial 42mm model transition from an ETA movement to an in-house movement, the fixed-lug FXD model developed specifically for French Navy combat swimmers, and the surprising arrival of the 39mm model, which is also suitable for those with smaller wrists.
But at Watches and Wonders 2025, Tudor unexpectedly unveiled a brand new timepiece: the Pelagos Ultra. This watch boasts 1000-meter water resistance, houses Tudor's first METAS-certified Pelagos movement, features a full titanium case, and has undergone a complete design upgrade. The Ultra represents Tudor's answer to a question the watch industry has long grappled with: what kind of flagship professional dive watch should Rolex's sister brand, Tudor, release?
Before delving into the details, it's worth noting that while we wore this watch a few times during morning surfing trips, we didn't conduct any actual diving tests. However, we estimate that most buyers of the Tudor Pelagos Ultra will face the same situation—no double entendre intended.
